I know, I know. I'm not dead!

I've been super-busy for the last month or so, what with basically working two jobs (they finally hired my replacement at the job I left in April, so after he's trained I should be off the hook).

Jessica came down on Wednesday (she left yesterday), and we had a great time!

Really, audience? Really? )

Also, I have a new toy:

Found it for $85 (refurbished) through Amazon. Score! Though, I have apparently now tainted the house, so we may have to do an Apple-exorcism at some point.

Also-also, we watched the US premiere of Merlin last night. It was good (Giles as Uther Pendragon!) but weird (Prince Arthur the jerk? Young Merlin with young Arthur?). I know the legend has lots of variation and many different versions, but given that my previous exposure to it has been The Once and Future King, Mary Stewart's Crystal Cave series, and Disney's The Sword in the Stone, it's a little jarring. And yet, I'm willing to cut it some slack because it's a BBC production, and if anyone can take liberties with Arthurian legend, I think the British probably can.

And yes, Mom, that is a Fringe mood theme.

The best show you're not watching (because it won't officially premiere until fall) is Glee. They showed a special preview of the pilot last night after American Idol, and I'm totally in love with it.

From the moment Rachel auditions for glee club with "'On My Own', from the seminal Broadway hit Les Mis", I was hooked.

It'll be up on Hulu for the next three weeks, check it out!

I was skimming a news article and got to the name "Mark Pilkington" and my brain immediately detoured into "Pilkington. Rosemary Pilkington." Also I now have 'The Brotherhood of Man' stuck in my head.

The joys of being a musical theatre geek.
