Pope Benedict XVI

Well, it's official!  Cardinal Ratzinger has been elected as the new Pontiff of the Catholic Church.  Here's the MSNBC news article describing it.

I'm happy...he's a conservative who won't smudge the bottom line of the rules of the Catholic Church (although I wish he'd kept his original last name...Pope Ratzinger just sounds cool).  And he's German, which means nothing to me but I'm sure will please those who didn't want an Italian to be Pope.
