mmmmmm...shamrock shake
Mar. 12th, 2008 01:55 pmI know, I'm not supposed to be having any dairy (at least until the concert on Sunday), but...shamrock shake! I love March. I love St. Patrick's Day. This weekend I'm going on my annual green bling shopping excursion to see how ridiculously green and sparkly I can get. The good part is Monday is a dress-down day at work so I can get more creative!
Plus, I have to dig out my soda bread recipe, the pork loin recipe, and go buy some Guinness & Bass (so John can make me Black & Tans - my hands aren't steady enough to make them)! I may or may not experiment with Irish Car Bombs this year...we'll see...
And, of course, make my various mix CDs with combinations of Irish folk songs (Gypsy Rover, Finnegan's Wake, Danny Boy, etc) and modern Irish music or music by Irish artists (Dropkick Murphys, and the other ones I can't remember right now...but I'll post the playlists when I make them!).
My St. Patrick's Day book this year is Princes of Ireland, which I haven't started yet but I will get to after I finish reading Musicophilia (which is a fascinating read, btw).
