BSG: A Disquiet Follows My Soul

megotelekSo. This was a chance to catch our breath and set up the (sure to be) dizzying plunge to the end of the series. Before I get into my thoughts on the ep, check out this video from Bear McCreary (who does the music):
I love love loved this arrangement of "Roslin and Adama". And the beautiful B-theme that shows up at the end of the episode...
...with Laura and Bill in bed! Which was completely awesome and oh-god-I-just-walked-in-on-my-parents-having-sex awkward, all at the same time.
I used to like Gaeta, but now I just want him to accidentally (?) stumble out an airlock. Or have Kara beat him to death with his prosthetic leg. Seriously, has anyone continued to make decisions as stupidly as he has? New Caprica? Betrayed by and collaborated with Baltar and the Cylons. The Demetrius? Got shot and lost his leg (and, apparently, discovered how to sing). Now? He's partnering up with Zarek. This will so not end well for him.
The Nicky's-not-really-a-hybrid retcon I'm fine with. Nice to know Cally can still suck from beyond the grave. Hotdog as the father? Really? Eh, this just means Hera really is super-special. And then there's Caprica Six & Tigh's baby, who is apparently full Cylon. Wonder if it's because Tigh's a Final Fiver and there's something different about the 13th Tribe Cylons.
Questions I still want answered:
Who/what is Kara? Or who/what enabled her to resurrect with her Viper?
What is the truth of the Opera House vision as related to Hera, Roslin, Athena, Six, and Baltar?
What are Head!Six and Head!Baltar? Is there an entity controlling them? If so, who/what?
What happened to Boomer? Will she get back together with Tyrol?

Date: 2009-01-25 06:02 pm (UTC)Have you seen then webisode with Gaeta and one of the Sharons on a raptor? It helps make sense of Gaeta's downward spiral but also calls to light that some of the cylons aligned with the humans aren't all wanting to play nice.
Part of me would like Tyrol and Boomer to get back together but part of me feels like that story has ended too. They both have that angry under the surface quality since kind of being rejected from their perceived home and adapting by becoming what they are instead of remaining who they were.
I love that Adama and Rosslin are "official" but I really don't want to see them walk away from it all either. I'm so used to them fighting the good fight that I'm kind of feeling like they're giving up.
I know its supposed to get darker before it gets light but this is really bumming me out....
