megotelek: (ghostrider)
We went to see Ghost Rider yesterday. Nicolas Cage truly is a master chewer of scenery, I will give him that. But what pisses me off, is there was a very cool cover of "(Ghost) Riders In The Sky" used a little bit in the movie and over the closing credits, and this is what Sony has to say about it:

"Spiderbait has 4 tracks in the new flick Ghostrider. 3 new originals and a version of the Johnny Cash song Ghostriders In The Sky."
"Unfortunately, at the current time there is no plan for Sony to release the track, although there has been discussion about there being a 'tribute' CD in the DVD package when that gets released."

The soundtrack that's out now is just the instrumental score. What is that about?? Oh, I'm sorry, does the band not want to make any MONEY from their music? Does Sony not want to make more money by marketing actual tracks by a band as opposed to symphonic scoring that not many people buy?? I don't understand! And I'm mad, because I want that cover. Never mind that John probably has 12 versions of the song already.....it was a really neat cover! All the others are too country or too rock & roll-y for repeated listening on my part, but that one had just the right edge of hard rock/alternative to it. Grrrr.
