Ahem...theater geek speaking...
Jun. 7th, 2008 03:51 pmI'm watching the Tony Nominations concert and thought I'd remind everyone - the Tony Awards are on Sunday, June 15th on CBS at 7pm PST. I was sort of on the fence about watching this year because Whoopi Goldberg's hosting, but among the nominees:
Patrick Stewart as Best Actor in a Play (Macbeth)
Patti LuPone as Best Actress in a Musical (Gypsy)
And among the musical revivals are Grease, South Pacific, Gypsy and Sunday in the Park With George.
Also, the musicals of Young Frankenstein, Xanadu, and The Little Mermaid are nominated to various degrees.

and that's when I went frantically searching for the TiVo remote!
Right now...they're performing "Bali Ha'i" from South Pacific. I'm so going to have this stuck in my head for the rest of the weekend...
