Dropped off my vote-by-mail ballot at my polling place this morning on my way to work (so I could get my 'I Voted' sticker, duh) and signed a petition to put a measure on next year's ballot to save firehouses. Civic duty: accomplished.
I'm glad I decided to be a permanent vote-by-mail voter - the breaking point was this election, with 12 freaking propositions on the ballot in California (well, 14 if you count the local measures). I don't have time to stand at the polling place for that long!
If only I liked coffee, I could have taken advantage of the Starbucks coffee giveaway to people with 'I Voted' stickers.
Be sure to check out Google's live results map that will be updated starting at 5pm EST!
ETA: Apparently Starbucks (and other places) are giving out freebies to everyone since it's illegal to offer incentives for voting.
